I was featured in a story for Big Life magazine that covered all sorts of topics. I’m not sure what I thought of the “Slowing Down” title but I did find the idea relevant to life these days.
Ski towns can often scare off people who are looking to check all the boxes: love, career, community, activity, etc. Not Christy Mahon. With her signature smile always gracing her face, she has beautifully woven a life that incorporates all the above while proving she doesn’t scare easily.
As a result of finishing our multi-year project to ski the 100 tallest mountains in Colorado, we were nominated as National Geographic's Adventurers of the Year for ski mountaineering.
Longtime Aspen resident Christy Mahon is a highly respected figure in ski circles, both locally and outside Colorado. A highlight on her long list of alpine accomplishments: becoming the first woman to ski all 54 of Colorado’s 14,000-foot peaks, a feat she accomplished in 2010.
